DIALOGUE:

Frame 1:

King Flower: In this practice of ours the mind tries to play.
Apriori Flower: What do you mean, "play?" Killing is serious.

Frame 2:

King Flower: Yes, killing is serious because it destroys life. The mind still does not care. It plays.
Apriori Flower: Plays?

Frame 3:

King Flower: This mind is a mixture of the past.
Apriori Flower: Yes, I understand.

Frame 4:

King Flower: This past is manufactured, observed and synthesized.
Apriori Flower: What I'm thinking is not real?

Frame 5:

King Flower: When it comes to making you suffer, unhappy and careless, yes.
Apriori Flower: Now I'm really confused.

Frame 6:

King Flower: The mind is a tool. It is your tool. It is your corolla.
Apriori Flower: So shame is a tool on its own playing?

Frame 7:

King Flower: That's right. We accept past thoughts as just passing. Then we focus.
Apriori Flower: Today I am free to do no harm.

CONCLUSION:

In the previous episode (Apriori Flower 20161212) King wanted to teach about the similar actions of us as beings. We are alive because we have taken life, property, sex, lied and drunk. We are no better than any other being. As King and Apriori are flowers it is hard to imagine them as violent. Flowers and plants take over each other all of the time. Some end up dying in the process. Some plants are more aggressive than others. This is their nature.

As humans Buddhism teaches us that our lives are special because we are able to choose. Our minds are tools. Our minds are not us!

Here is a way to think of your mind. You mind is a jacket. You have an angry jacket. You have a peaceful jacket. These are layers that accumulate and filter what you observe.

Apriori was saddened by his pride in the previous episode. He was ashamed that he was like the animals. He was not sad that he had killed, only that he was like the animals. Even if he was sad about killing another flower it was only pride. that led him to this sadness. Pride is the greatest accumulator of suffering.  Apriori killed another flower by his nature and he was unaware. Later his pride, which was a bored developed mind, saw to punish him.

King wants Apriori to wake up his practice with metta (loving kindness). Apriori is getting there. Apriori is not there yet. Apriori has to understand that his mind is a tool. This tool is powerful. Left unchecked it is destructive. It seems contradictory. There is the observer and then there is the mind that feeds the observer. Awakened Mind is the observer who tells the mind, "You work for me because you are always giving me a different story."
